Why are women under-represented in the music industry? Are women undervalued? How do women navigate the challenges of the sector? These are some of the questions to be discussed with women who are leaders in the South African music sector. This insightful panel discussion is hosted by Concerts SA in partnership with SAMRO, Constitution Hill (South Africa) and the Norwegian Embassy in South Africa. DIGITAL FUTURES TWO: Workshop held in Johannesburg

The workshops reflected on recent research studies by Concerts SA and the Music in Africa Foundation (MiAF) which explore the feasibility of online music streaming and the viability of different revenue streams for musicians in SA. There were also panel discussions on the current state of the live music scene with key industry players (musicians, promoters, venue managers and owners), focusing on the survival of music venues and events in post-COVID SA.
